This antique carnelian shell cameo habille (meaning "wearing jewelry" or "dressed") pin and pendant has an exceptionally beautiful design. Is unique and much harder to find. The carved face, hair, bust and flowers are very detailed.
She has two roses in her hair and a rose on each shoulder. Her "habille" jewelry is a necklace with a larger-than-usual faceted round diamond set in a diamond -shaped base. One of the major requirements for a cameo to truly be habille is that the jewelry could be removed by the figure in the cameo.Notice the corded chain that on the back has both ends showing allowing for removal. About 1" x 2", there is a very intricate 12K wire framed border, both rising up on the sides of the cameo and laying flat. This allows the elaborate work to be seen from the sides and the front. The attached pendant and pin clasp are in excellent working condition. The item "Detailed Victorian Cameo Habille Pin/Pendant 12K Intricate Filigree. Rectangle" is in sale since Saturday, November 3, 2018.
